Our Story
Garlic Boyz began with two friends, two engineers, and one simple question:
What if we built something completely different?
After years of solving complex engineering problems, we found ourselves wanting to spend more time outdoors, work with our hands, and create something tangible. We weren't looking to leave engineering behind—we wanted a new challenge that connected us to the land and to our community.
As University of Michigan engineering graduates, we naturally approached farming the same way we approach everything else: asking questions, solving problems, learning continuously, and always looking for ways to improve.
Garlic somehow became the perfect fit. It combines science, patience, and craftsmanship, while producing something simple, healthy, and incredibly flavorful.
Both of us are passionate about healthy living and clean eating, and we grew up in families where growing your own food were part of everyday life. Garlic Boyz is our way of carrying those traditions forward while creating something new together.
But this farm is about more than garlic.
For me, it's also about showing my two sons that it's okay to take risks, pursue your passions, and use your talents to build something that benefits others. We hope Garlic Boyz inspires them—and maybe others—to believe that learning doesn't stop after school and that some of life's best opportunities begin by trying something new.
We're just getting started, and we're excited to share each harvest with you.
